Knocked Down, Not Out
Welcome to another edition of The Punching Pastor Blog. The blog where faith hits harder than life ever could. And today I’ve got one message for you:
You may be on the canvas… but you're not out.
“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”
— 2 Corinthians 4:8–9
That was Paul talking — a man who knew pain like a fighter knows bruises.
He was beaten, imprisoned, shipwrecked, snake bitten, stoned (and I don’t mean the fun kind)… But here’s the thing: Paul didn’t panic.
Why?
Because even when his knees buckled, his faith didn’t, He held on to one truth that changes everything:
The fight’s not over while faith is still breathing.
If you’ve got breath, you’ve got purpose. If your heart’s still beating, then your mission’s still active. You might be down, but you’re not done.
And here’s what I want you to know today:
God’s corner is not empty. He’s not shouting from the cheap seats.
He’s in your corner. He’s your Corner Man.
And what does a good corner man do?
He picks you up between rounds.
He wipes the blood from your brow.
He whispers truth when your vision’s blurred.
He reminds you who you are — even when you forget.
He tells you, “You’ve got more in you.”
Even Jesus had moments in Gethsemane when the fight looked too heavy.
But He got up.
Faced the cross.
And knocked out death in three days flat.
As Muhammad Ali once said:
“Champions aren’t made in the gym. Champions are made from something they have deep inside — a desire, a dream, a vision.”
Scripture backs that up:
“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 1:6
So wherever you are right now,
Whether you’re in Round 1 or crawling into Round 12 ,
You don’t need to throw in the towel.
🎯 You just need a plan. Because fighters don’t quit. They rise.
