When God Doesn’t Answer: Fighting Through the Silence

“You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle.”
Psalm 56:8

I’ve taken beatings before. In the ring. In life. In my faith. But nothing hits quite like heaven’s silence. You pray. You plead. You fall to your knees with bloody knuckles and broken dreams.
And all you hear is… nothing. No thunder. No whisper. No answer.

Let me ask you something hard: What do you do when God says nothing at all?

What do you do when you trusted Him with everything…….and it still broke?
When the job didn’t come.
When the sickness stayed.
When the addiction didn’t leave.
When the person you prayed for still walked out?

You start asking brutal questions:

  • Is God even listening?

  • Did I mess up too bad to be heard?

  • Am I praying wrong……. or am I just not worth the answer?

I’ve been there, warrior. And I’ve learned something through those gut-wrenching rounds:

God’s silence isn’t His absence. And unanswered prayers are still held in divine hands.

Grace in the “No”

Sometimes God says “No” because He’s sparing you from a deeper pain.
Other times it’s “Not yet,” because He’s not finished forming you.
And occasionally, He answers in a way you never saw coming.

Real talk?
We treat prayer like a wish list, a vending machine! But God treats it like a training ground. He’s not your corner man giving you easy rounds. He’s your Father, shaping your heart to last through the fight.

When It Feels Like He’s Gone Silent

There’s a passage I cling to when I’m in that dark locker room of the soul:

“The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:18

Read that again. Crushed in spirit.
Not singing hymns on the mountaintop—but flat on your face, in the deep darkest valley, gasping. That’s where He’s closest.

“Jesus didn’t tap out on the cross. That’s my standard. I fight like He did—broken, bleeding, but obedient.”

Maybe you’ve stopped praying. Maybe your silence is your protest. But here’s the thing, God never stopped listening. Even when your fists were clenched. Even when you screamed instead of sang. Even when you walked out of church and said, “I’m done.”

He kept the bottle of your tears. He wrote down your pain. And He hasn’t moved one inch from your side.

Call to Action: Get Back in the Fight

  • Write down the prayer you’ve buried.

  • Say it out loud.

  • And dare to believe that God hasn’t given up on you.

He doesn’t need perfect words. He needs a willing warrior.

Let’s train your faith for the long rounds.
Let’s rebuild your hope, one prayer at a time.
You’re not alone
