I have come to understand that a lack of economic means is not the root problem of poverty, but yet we see it this way win the western world. Our vision needs to change so instead of seeing the solution in keeping this or that project going so we can bless our partners with a share of the economic wealth with which we have, ourselves been blessed, or to set up services that will provide basic needs for others. But still we insist that our money will solve the problem.

To live as an echo of Jesus is to let His life strike your life so deeply that what comes out of you sounds like Him.

Not a copy of church culture. Not a performance of religion. An echo.

Jesus speaks mercy, and our lives repeat it.
Jesus touches the rejected, and our hands repeat it.
Jesus forgives enemies, and our hearts repeat it.
Jesus feeds the hungry, and our tables repeat it.
Jesus goes to the margins, and our feet repeat it.

An echo does not originate the sound. It carries it.

Last evening, Cook Serve Pray returned to The Brú with one simple mission: to share the love of Christ through hospitality.

 Over the course of the outreach, we served 80 hot dogs and ice creams to children, young people, and families in the estate. Conversations were shared, friendships strengthened, laughter echoed across the courtyard, and for a little while, neighbours gathered around food rather than the struggles that so often dominate life in communities marked by addiction, hardship, and isolation.

There is something deeply human about the desire for the spectacular. We want the burning bush, the parting sea, the fire falling from heaven. We want God to show up in thunder and lightning, in a great ceremony of smoke and divine pageantry. Naaman, the great Syrian commander, was no different and his story, told with striking honesty in 2 Kings 5:1–15, holds up a mirror to every one of us who has ever struggled to find the sacred in the simple.
